Ceiling Fan Installation
Ceiling fans are a great way to add to the enjoyment of your home and cool things down without always having to run the A/C. They can be put in place of overhead light fixtures, or even added when there is no existing electrical box. Hanging a ceiling fan is a little more involved than a simple light fixture, and usually requires more than novice skills to do it. The thing that most folks don’t realize is that the existing electrical box in the ceiling is probably not rated for a ceiling fan. If there wasn’t a ceiling fan in place originally, there’s a 99% chance the box isn’t rated for a fan. An electrician can cut out your existing plastic box, and replace it with a retrofit kit that is rated to handle the weight and motion of a ceiling fan. This can all be done without having to replace drywall.
