Gutter Cable
Many folks in Northeast Ohio experience ice damage and the danger that can result from heavy ice build up in gutters and downspouts around the home. This phenomenon is often due to heat loss through roofing material, causing the bottom layer of snow and ice to melt and trickle to the edges of the roof, leaving icicles and black ice patches on the ground below. Improvements in your home’s insulation can combat this, but rarely eliminate it. Gutter melt or deicing cable can completely eliminate ice dams and growing icicles that can cause significant damage. The cable is run along the roof edge, in the gutter itself, and in the downspouts, so that any running water does not freeze during the winter, but rather runs out as it normally would in warm weather. This cable requires dedicated electrical circuits and qualified electricians to install it.
